Oh How Time Flies When You Are Crafting!
Oh how time flies when you are having fun…& oh my goodness did we ever have fun! My good friend Pat, who I swear can read my mind came over for a long overdue visit. It is crazy how a day and a half of shopping and crafting is WAY too short when your having fun!! Oh how I miss her already and she has only been gone a few hours:(
I taught her all of my tricks I had recently learned from the Tradex craft & sew show in Abbostford & more! She taught me a few things ( like how to make the best chicken soup in the world… Thx Pat)
We made a few cards, had a few drinks and tons of laughs! Not surprisingly my little one was mesmerized by Pat. She was awesome & was able to endure our crazy shopping bonanza with smiles and giggles.
Here are some of our creations:
This is an owl card that I cut from the Cricut Create a Critter cart, the branch was cut from the Storybook cart.
The next ones are butterfly cards, so cute, one was a birthday the other a mothers day card.
We bought some dreamweaver stencils and tried our hands at using embossing paste. Its official, my new love is embossing paste and glitter ritz! The two cards I made after Pat left. We bought all of our supplies then she had to go and spend quality time with her daughter
Finally we made ribbon holders, for all those pesky ribbon ends that are too long to toss, but too short for a spool. We were inspired by a CTMH product we saw for the same purpose, but our Mantra is why but when you can CREATE!
It is basically a piece if transparency with slots punched out with a jumper binder ring- BRILLIANT!
Here are just some other pics I wanted to post as well!

The one above is my Easter step card! Absolutely loved making that one!
These (above) are the two glitter ritz butterfly cards I made using the sookwang be creative tape, lots of work but they turn out gorgeous!
Below are some sample card pics we took of the embossing paste at the craft store.
Oh my goodness!
Okay so my sister dragged me to the Fraser Valley craft and sew show… So glad I went! Learned all about new ways to use my glitter ritz ( that frankly was gathering dust on the shelf) picked up some great ideas! With my last class ending on April 6th this term, that motivated me to hide in my craft room! So I have posted some pics… But bare with me as I’m learning to use my mobile to update my blog… Otherwise I feel I never have time to download photos and put them on my blog… So here goes! Here are some pics from the Tradex show

This is a picture of what Deanna Pannel (hope I got that right) was demo’ing, her burnished velvet technique using her bigshot and spell binders (which I think are ridiculously expensive!!!) well it took her forever to spit out how to do it… Actually I don’t think she ever did… But I figured it out anyways. I went home and used my cricut and scal and came up with a great new way to use my glitter ritz the possiblities are endless!!!
I seem to be all about butterflies these days, maybe it is because spring it in the air! The Bigshot rep had this gorgeous butterfly board book thought I’d post it for you to snag some ideas from… I don’t know how I would use it, but if you come up with any ideas let me know!

Cherish the Thought had some great demos using Elizabeth crafts double sided sticky peel offs with glitter ritz and regular peel offs with glitter ritz!
More to come… Stay tuned!
1, 2, 3 EMBOSS!!!
Okay, so I was searching around for some new but fairly easy card ideas… so this is what I found…
it is a new, super easy, super classy way to emboss using your cuttlebug, or sizzix and have a quick card that looks great!
Argyle Cards with Wildcard Cartridge
Here are some of my recent Card endeavors. I just love the Arglye Card in the Wildcards Cartridge. So I thought I would make a few of them and just change them just a little bit to see how they looked. I was quite happy with the way they all turned out!
This is a (above) thank you card that I made. I decided to change things up it opens up instead of the traditional right to left.
This is one of two Birthday Cards I made. On this one I decided to emboss the white card stock in the background. Then I used my brown ink pad and just lightly covered the embossing so you could see the design a litte bit more. I kind of like the way that it turn out!
This is the third card. Essentially I used the leftover pieces to finish this card. I think it makes a big difference when you emboss the back card stock. Not my favorite card but there you have it!

Okay so Hey everyone! This is my very first post… so here I go!
So I got my Cricut and SCAL on Black Friday 2010 and I have been dorking on tons of websites and blogs since then. This led me start thinking about starting my own blog. I wanted to share my creations and also credit people for their ideas that inspired me! I am hoping to upload my creations on here as my contribution!
A little about me, I am a grade one teacher who loves everything crafty! I enjoy baking and creating. In the crafting area of things I am really interested in making cards. I have not jumped on the scrapbook band wagon just yet… but have a feeling it is just lurking around the corner as I am currently on Mat leave with my first child! On the baking end of things I love cake making, check out my other wordpress site http://www.karmconnolly.wordpress.com it is my cake making website that I just do on the side as a creative outlet!
Okay so that is it for now… bare with me while I stumble my way through

Christmas Card 2010
This one above is going to Ireland. I found it interesting that Irish generally say “Happy Christmas” rather than “Merry Christmas”
